Webinar Description

The occurrence of a traumatic event in a child’s life does not just impact the child. The caregivers of the child also are impacted by the psychological stress of the trauma. Caregivers seeking play therapy for their children will benefit if they are given tools to help them navigate the healing process for both the child and themselves. As a play therapist, learning the steps to facilitate this process and how to help the adults become instruments of healing, increases the effectiveness of the child’s treatment.

Ann is a licensed clinical social worker and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor who has 20 years of experience working with children who have experienced traumatic events.  Ann received her master’s degree from the University of Kansas’s School of Social Welfare. As an Adjunct professor at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas, she has taught play therapy courses for over twelve years . Ann has presented nationally and internationally on a variety of topics related to working with children who have experienced trauma.
