Webinar Description
Young people experiencing mental health challenges deserve support, compassion, and care. The purpose of this course is to strengthen the knowledge of clinicians who desire to provide clinical support to youth who may be experiencing mental health challenges. In this workshop, the presenters will identify and describe the impact risk and protective factors on youth and their mental health and the differential between normative adolescent development stages and warning signs and symptoms. This workshop will provide clinical techniques on how to effectively engage and support young people who are at risk for or in the midst of a mental health crisis and provide a clear illustration and comprehension of the mental health needs of youth and adolescents. The presenter's goal is to improve the mental health outcomes of youth by providing relevant knowledge that will enhance professional development.

Qualifications:
TaNashia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Fresh Approach Valued On Resilience (F.A.V.O.R.) Therapeutic Services. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University and a Master of Social Work with a focus in trauma- informed care from Barry University.
TaNashia has over 10 years of experience working with families, children, and young adults as an agent of support and guidance. TaNashia specializes in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Play Therapy.
In her current role, TaNashia provides mental health services in Miami Dade County Public Schools in Miami, FL. TaNashia is passionate about bringing high quality prevention and trauma-informed services and solutions for some of the most pressing issues facing vulnerable children, families, and communities.
TaNashia’s counseling approach is to bring forth the knowledge and strength people already possess, while using client-centered techniques. It is imperative to provide a safe space where children and families feel comfortable to be themselves and be accepted unconditionally.
Tanisha maintains an active license in the State of Florida and Virgina.
Shatavia Moffett Joseph is an active Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. She is the Executive Director and founder of Minding Hearts and Minds Agency and Co- Founder of Ladies Empowering All People with Love, (L.E.A.P. w/Love), Non-Profit organization.
Shatavia received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at the University Central Florida and her Master’s Degree in social work at Florida International University. She finds extreme joy in advocating and supporting vulnerable populations. She has over a decade of experience in providing therapeutic and supportive services to youth, young and older adults, veterans, and the homeless population.
Shatavia is a Mental Health Coordinator for Miami Dade County Public Schools, where she takes pride in being afforded the opportunity to support students and their families with their social and emotional needs. Shatavia specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Play Therapy.
