Webinar Description
During this Brand New Training, Dr. Eric Bornstein will discuss the science of pain and how to treat it. Treating pain begins with a good pain evaluation. How severe is the pain? What type of pain is it and how often is the pain felt? What can we do about it?
This training will give participants an understanding of the best ways to target moderate to severe pain. We are all aware of the great epidemic of opioid addiction. Why do people get addicted? Is there still an appropriate role for opioids? What are affective pharmacological alternatives? Dr. Bornstein will discuss these issues as well as safe prescribing and how to recognize risk factors for addiction: Behavioral Warning Signs, misuse, diversion, and abuse. We will also discuss assessing and managing pain among older adults, end of life issues, dangers of mixing marijuana and alcohol with medications and more!
